NOTICE TO TAXPAYERS OF HEARING ON ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION NOTICE TO TAXPAYERS OF HEARING ON ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION Notice is hereby given to the taxpayers of the Lake County Park District (the "Park District") that the Board of Parks and Recreation (the "Board") of the County of Lake, Indiana, will meet at Lake County Parks and Recreation Department Corporate Office, 8411 East Lincoln Highway, Crown Point, Indiana 46307, at the hour of 5:00 P.M. (Local Time) on August 13, 2026 to hold a public hearing to consider the appropriation of the proceeds of certain bonds of the Park District. The Board considers such additional appropriation necessary to meet the extraordinary emergency existing at this time: An appropriation in the amount of $30,000,000 on account of the purchase of various items of equipment, pay the costs of planning, construction, development and improvements of park facilities, and pay for the acquisition and development of land (collectively, the "Projects") of the Park District, including the incidental expenses necessary to be incurred in connection with said projects and the issuance of bonds on account thereof. The funds to meet such additional appropriation are to be provided by the issuance and sale of bonds by the Park District. The foregoing appropriation is in addition to all appropriations provided for in the existing budget and tax levy, and a need for such appropriation exists by reason of the need to improve present facilities in the Park District. Taxpayers of the Park District appearing at said meeting shall have the right to be heard in respect to the purpose of the bonds and the additional appropriation of the proceeds.
